The Red Carpet Treatment!

Yes, that’s right! When we showed up to school on Monday morning, the red carpet had been laid out for us by our awesome PTO!  They are one creative group of moms, and each year they go above and beyond for us during Teacher Appreciation Week.  This year’s theme was “Peregrine Celebrities!” (My school is called Peregrine.)  Here are a few of the fun things they did to transform our work space into a ‘red carpet event’ space!

When we arrived at school, the hallways were filled with stars hanging from the ceilings!

Our lounge was filled with with a buffet of goodies! Each day of the week there is something new. Monday was all breakfast foods, and Friday is a “Gala” Luncheon that we are all dressing up for.  And when I say dressing up, I mean, dusting off our old prom dresses! I just hope I can still zip mine up!break room buffet

Our PTO went around to local businesses and received donations for prizes. They put this little display on the wall near our staff lounge. On Friday they are drawing names out to see who wins. Fingers crossed for Texas Roadhouse- I love their biscuits!gift card drawing

On the hallway near the staff bathrooms, the PTO created a big collage board full of pictures from this year.  Luckily those ‘paparazzi’ only got me twice!  paparazzi collage

This was a cute little decoration that they had on doors around the staff lounge-aka- the VIP room! Super cute!staff room entrance

Outside each of our doors they made us a ‘Hollywood Star’. They also hung posters under our stars for our adoring fans/students to leave us messages.  My poster was still blank on Monday morning but every day it’s filling with more messages that are fun to read- especially after a long day of testing like we had on Tuesday!

You can also see a QR code posted here. This was from a project that the 4th graders did last year where they interviewed each teacher and made a video which can be watched by scanning the QR code. autograph door signs

Each of us also received a SWAG BAG- much like celebrities receive at movie premieres! Ours was filled with so many goodies including chocolates and gift cards to local favorite businesses like Dutch Bros Coffee! Do you have a Dutch Bros where you live? They are the best drive-up coffee place I’ve been to and they ALWAYS have deals- the way to a teacher’s heart! We also received long stem red roses with our Swag Bags!swag bagThis Rolo Bar was one of the items in our Swag Bag. I had to share its cute message!

I am so lucky to have a PTO like this at my school, and now its my turn to think of some awesome thank-you gifts for them!  I’ll be heading to Pinterest for some Pinspiration this week!

Did your school do anything special for Staff Appreciation week?
