My Blank Classroom Canvas!

I shared in my last post that I was recently thrown into a 5th grade teaching position at the last minute! Well, not really thrown, I CHOSE to accept it.  But it was last minute, nonetheless! I promised before and after pictures, and I plan to deliver!
But today, you only get to see the ‘before’. Once the ‘After’ is perfected, I’ll post those pics too!

The view from the hallway door, looking towards the back door.  My desk and closet (I HAVE A CLOSET!!) are over to the left by the filing cabinet.

Another view from the hallway door- this time looking towards the middle of the classroom.

This pic is a view from the back/outside door looking in.  You can see that I have two LARGE whiteboards, and a projector.  I don’t really have much in the way of bulletin board space, but I’m planning to make some ‘faux’ bulletin boards on the wall over the computers.

A closer look at my desk and closet area.  Right now it is BLAH.  I thought about doing away with the desk, but my school says I have to keep it in my room.

The sink, cubby area, and small group meeting table.  This is also the first time I’ve had actual cubbies.  Too bad there are only 20 cubbies and 31 students!

Don’t these pictures just make your creative blood boil!?  I can’t wait to show you the afters! In the meantime I’ll be teacher blog stalking, and Pinterest perusing for lots of new ideas!

  1. It looks huge! I’m sure things get a little tighter once 31 bodies are squeezed in though. Can’t wait to see the after photos!
